Cora Health Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Cora charges $175 a month for compounded semaglutide and $225 a month for compounded tirzepatide on its monthly plan. It offers four plan lengths: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual. Each plan has one price at every dose, and that price covers the provider consultation, the medication, expedited shipping, provider monitoring and support. There's no separate membership fee and no insurance billing. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.

The monthly rate falls as the commitment gets longer, and the "from" figure in Cora's ads is the annual rate. That plan is billed as one charge every 12 months, and it renews automatically at the end of each term until you cancel. The quarterly and semi-annual plans are also paid up front for the whole term. The monthly plan is the only one billed a month at a time, and it carries the highest monthly price Cora lists. Compare the full charge at checkout, not just the per-month figure.

Cora is a platform and doesn't prescribe. Prescribing is done by Wasef Health, PC, an independent physician group in Florida. Its group medical director is Dr. David Wasef, an internal medicine physician, and the group was founded by Dr. Michael Wasef. Cora lists three more network physicians by name.

Prescriptions are filled by one of two named 503A compounding pharmacies: Hallandale Pharmacy in Fort Lauderdale, which Cora says is PCAB-accredited and has operated since 2003, or VialsRx. Your vial's label shows which one filled your order.

The intake is a questionnaire of about five minutes. Cora says a provider usually reviews it within 24 hours, and most shipments arrive within three days of leaving the pharmacy. If you're switching from another GLP-1, have a photo of your prescription or vial label and the date and amount of your last dose ready. Your current dose isn't guaranteed; the provider decides.

Monthly plans ship one month at a time. A quarterly plan ships as a single three-month supply. Semi-annual and annual plans ship in three-month batches, so an annual plan arrives in four shipments.

That schedule drives refunds. Once the pharmacy has prepared and labeled a shipment, it can't be returned or refunded, but a three-month batch it hasn't prepared yet can be. If you cancel a semi-annual or annual plan partway through, Cora reprices the doses you've received at its standard quarterly rate and refunds the rest. Because medication is prepared months ahead, that refund shrinks quickly and can reach zero once most of your doses have shipped. When a refund is due, you can take cash back or Cora account credit worth 15% more.

You get a full refund if you cancel before your first shipment is prepared, or if a provider finds you aren't eligible.

Cancellation goes through a person. You message the care team in the patient portal, or email support, and a team member handles it. A canceled monthly plan stays active through the end of the current month. You can pause instead, and billing and shipments stop until a resume date you choose. Report a damaged or missing package within 24 hours of delivery, with photos.
