Last reviewed July 2026

WeighLab is a reading-and-modeling resource, so the amount of personal data it needs to run is small. This page describes what is measured, the measurement being off by default, and what you can do to change or clear it.

Measurement runs through Google Analytics 4.

The only analytics tool on this site is Google Analytics 4, and it runs from your first page view unless you opt out. When it is active, it records aggregate usage signals — which pages load, how long a session lasts, an approximate region derived from your IP address (the address itself is not retained by us), device and browser type, and the referring source that brought you here. We do not ask for or store names, email addresses, or account credentials, because the site has no login and no forms that collect them.

Analytics starts with your first page view.

WeighLab is a US site and operates on an opt-out basis under Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics storage begins in the granted state, so measurement starts when the page loads and the banner tells you rather than asking first. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization stay denied at all times — nothing here feeds ad targeting or builds an advertising profile of you. One tap turns analytics off and the site continues to work normally.

Your choice lives in your own browser.

Your consent decision is saved locally in your browser under the cookie-consent key, so the banner knows not to show again on your next visit. That value stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and makes the setting per browser and per device. Google Analytics sets its own measurement cookies in accordance with Google's handling of that data; opting out deletes them.

The data serves one purpose.

Aggregate analytics tell us which articles and calculators readers actually use, where pages are confusing or slow, and which topics deserve more depth. That is the extent of it. The data informs editorial and product decisions about WeighLab; it is not used to build advertising profiles or to identify individual readers.

We do not sell your personal information.

WeighLab does not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and it does not share it with data brokers. There is no arrangement under which your information is exchanged for money or other value.

Google processes the analytics data as a third party.

Because measurement runs on Google Analytics 4, any data collected after you consent is processed by Google as an independent party under its own terms and privacy commitments. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's policies rather than this one, and we encourage you to review them to understand how Google treats analytics information.

You can access, delete, opt out, or reset at any time.

One button turns analytics off for this browser, immediately and without a reload: Consent Mode goes to denied, GA4 stops identifying the session, and the Google Analytics cookies already in your browser are deleted rather than left there inert. Your choice is kept under the cookie-consent entry; clearing this site's data returns you to the default. Browser controls and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on give you additional ways to block collection. If you would like to ask what has been recorded about your visits, or request deletion, write to us at hello@weighlab.com.

This site is not directed to children.

WeighLab is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18, and it is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, contact us and we will remove it.

Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful.

Aggregate analytics are retained under Google Analytics' standard retention settings and are used only in summarized form. Because the site keeps no accounts and collects no directly identifying details, there is no personal profile held on our side to retain beyond that.

The site is served over encrypted connections.

WeighLab is delivered over HTTPS, and the limited analytics it uses are handled through Google's infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so while we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information.

This policy can change.

We may revise this policy as the site or the tools it relies on evolve. The date at the top marks the most recent revision, and continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
