Open Water Rx Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Open Water Rx sells compounded GLP-1s at a flat price per program, and it publishes every price before you start. The price is set by the medication you pick and how many months you prepay, not by a quote after review. Its FAQ says the monthly rate stays the same at every dose, from your starting dose through maintenance.

Each program comes in one-, three- and six-month terms, and the longer terms cost less per month. One-month injections cost $169 for semaglutide or $219 for tirzepatide. Oral semaglutide is $259 and oral tirzepatide $319 monthly. There are also oral semaglutide tablets, oral tirzepatide, a combination oral of both, and a semaglutide microdosing protocol, each with its own price list. Check the pricing table for the term you want, and the total you'll pay up front, before you check out.

There's no separate membership fee. The plan price includes the provider's review, the medication if it's prescribed, follow-up care and shipping. Insurance is not needed. HSA/FSA eligibility depends on your plan; ask your administrator.

You choose a program and complete an online health history. The homepage says nothing is charged before approval, while the cancellation policy says payment is collected at checkout and refunded if treatment is declined. Ask support to resolve that difference before entering payment details. An independent licensed provider reviews it and may message you with questions. Some states require a live video visit first.

If you're prescribed, a licensed compounding pharmacy ships the medication to your home, in cold-chain packaging when it needs refrigeration. Your provider does a 30-day review and refill check after the first prescription, then monthly async follow-ups until your dose is steady, then quarterly. Secure messaging with your provider is included, and labs may be recommended when needed.

Open Water Rx is now part of Surfbound Health and also trades under the Surfbound name, so your patient login carries that brand. It's based in Tampa, Florida. It doesn't name a medical director.

Plans are subscriptions that renew automatically. To cancel, email the members address at least 72 hours before your billing date, or you'll be charged once more. You keep access through the end of the period you paid for, and medication already prescribed for that period still ships.

If the provider decides treatment isn't appropriate, you get a full refund. Apart from that and later medical disqualification, Open Water Rx says no refund is issued when you cancel. Damaged or incorrect medication is replaced by the pharmacy, not refunded.

• Your term. A multi-month plan is paid up front and isn't refunded if you stop early.
