Amble Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Amble sells compounded GLP-1 injections on one price list, and the price doesn't change with your dose. What changes it is how long you commit. Amble calls it "compounded GLP-1" without naming semaglutide or tirzepatide, so ask which one you'd be prescribed.

The multi-month prices aren't monthly bills. Amble's terms say a bulk plan is charged in full at the time of purchase.

There's no membership fee and no insurance. Medication, injection supplies, cold shipping and ongoing clinical monitoring are included. HSA and FSA cards work on plans of three months or longer, and Amble provides itemized receipts if you need to submit them yourself.

You start with a free online quiz about your health history, lifestyle and goals. A state-licensed physician reviews it. In most states that's all it takes, but New Mexico, Kansas, West Virginia, Louisiana and Mississippi require a short video or audio visit first. Amble says it serves all 50 states, with exclusions it doesn't spell out.

If you're prescribed, the medication is shipped cold to your door in discreet packaging, with a dose-escalation schedule to follow. You can message your provider through the patient portal and ask for a dose change there.

Amble describes itself as a managed services company, not a medical practice or pharmacy. Prescriptions go to licensed compounding pharmacies in its network, which it doesn't name. Ask which one will fill yours. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

This is the part to read before checkout. Amble's discounted plans are sold "in exchange for a firm commitment to the full duration of the program." At checkout you tick a box agreeing that no month of the plan can be canceled or refunded once fulfillment has begun, and fulfillment begins as soon as your prescription arrives at the pharmacy. Medication may be shipped one or three months at a time.

The only full refund in the terms is for someone a provider decides not to treat. The terms also warn that disputing a charge with your card issuer to get out of a commitment can end in collections.

You can stop future renewals by email or through your patient dashboard, but the request has to arrive at least 15 days before your next billing date. Later than that, and you'll likely be billed for one more cycle. Anything already filled or shipped still runs to the end of the term you paid for.

If you're unsure about the drug or the dose, the one-month plan is the safer way to start, even at the higher price.
