Zera Health Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Zera Health sells four compounded GLP-1 options: weekly semaglutide injections, weekly tirzepatide injections, a daily oral dissolving tablet, and a lower-dose "microdose" injection. Each has a flat monthly price that doesn't go up as your dose increases, and each includes the physician's oversight, ongoing support and free shipping. There's no insurance involved.

Each injection is sold two ways. You can pay monthly, or be billed every three months, which Zera says saves up to 15%. Its treatment pages also show a separate, lower first-month price. Tirzepatide costs more than semaglutide on every plan. The microdose plan costs less than the standard injections, and the oral tablet sits between them.

Zera's pages show several different figures for the same drug, including first-month, monthly and quarterly rates, and a "from" price on the homepage. Before you pay, check which plan your cart is on and what the second charge will be.

You complete an online intake, and a licensed physician reviews it and writes a treatment plan. Zera advertises same-day approval and says prescriptions ship in 48 hours. Medication comes from Strive Pharmacy, a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy that makes each prescription for a named patient. Injectables ship cold, and Zera publishes a guide to checking the package when it arrives. If a shipment is damaged or warm, it will send a replacement, usually within one to two business days.

After you start, the plan includes round-the-clock messaging and unlimited consultations with providers. The patient portal lets you track progress and adjust your plan. Zera says it serves all 50 states.

Zera's subscription renews automatically. You can cancel at any time by contacting customer service or through the chat in your patient portal. The request must arrive at least 72 hours before your billing date. Otherwise you'll be charged once more and the cancellation takes effect the following cycle. You keep access through the end of the cycle you've paid for.

On refunds, Zera's policy gives a full refund within seven days of your first purchase, as long as a provider hasn't reviewed your case or written a prescription. If a provider disqualifies you for a medical reason, you also get a full refund. Once a prescription has gone to the pharmacy, that month's fee and medication aren't refundable. Refunds take five to ten business days.

• Put your billing date in your calendar, since cancellation needs 72 hours' notice.
• Zera doesn't name its prescribing physicians on its plan pages. Ask who will review your case if that matters to you.
