Somi Health Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Somi's homepage lists compounded semaglutide from $135 a month and compounded tirzepatide from $165 a month. Both are three-month plan prices, and Somi says they apply at any dose. A semaglutide tablet, for people who want to avoid shots, is listed from $279 a month on a one-month plan.

Other parts of Somi's site don't agree with those figures. Its weight loss section shows different monthly prices for both drugs, and its how-it-works section shows lower "as low as" prices. That same section promises "no contracts, no subscriptions," while the homepage prices are for three-month plans. Before you pay, ask for the total you'll be charged, how often you'll be billed, and what one month costs without a plan.

Somi doesn't take insurance. It says its price includes the medical visit, ongoing medication shipments and messaging with your provider.

You fill out a medical questionnaire that Somi says takes about seven minutes, and a U.S.-licensed provider reviews it. Somi says approval usually comes within 24 hours, and you can also book a free consult call. Its weight loss section says providers require a recent metabolic panel, and Somi can send an at-home lab kit if you don't have one.

Once you're approved, the prescription goes to one of Somi's partner 503A pharmacies, which it doesn't name. Delivery estimates vary across the site. The FAQ says two to five days. The shipping policy says orders are processed in one to two business days and take four to 12 business days on average, including pharmacy preparation. Expedited shipping is free, nothing ships on weekends or holidays, and the medication doesn't come in child-resistant packaging.

A banner across Somi's site advertises a 100% money-back guarantee. Its terms of use say something different. Under a heading titled "No Refund Policy," they say there are no refunds, credits or exchanges on dispensed, mixed or purchased medications, and that all sales are final.

The shipping policy adds that Somi isn't liable for packages damaged or lost in transit. You'd file a claim with the carrier yourself. Ask Somi in writing what its guarantee covers before you pay.

• The pharmacy. Ask which pharmacy will fill your prescription.
• Who's in charge. No medical director is named.
• Continuity. The terms let Somi end its weight program at any time, with 30 days' notice.
• Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved.
