Two bills: the care plan and the medication
Sesame sells brand-name GLP-1 care, not compounded drugs. You pay Sesame for a care plan called Success by Sesame, and you pay for the medication separately at the pharmacy. The $59 a month in Sesame's ads is the care plan on a twelve-month commitment.

What the medication costs
Without insurance, Sesame passes through the drugmakers' self-pay prices:
- Wegovy pill: $149 a month at the two lowest doses, $299 at the higher ones.
- Foundayo pill: from $149 a month.
- Wegovy pen: $199 a month for the first two months at the starting doses, then $349 at every dose. Ozempic is also $349, or $499 at the 2 mg dose. These offers run through December 31, 2026.
- Zepbound vials: $299, $399, then $449 a month from 7.5 mg up. KwikPens step up to $699 at the top doses.
Add the care plan, and the realistic floor is about $208 a month on the Wegovy pill with a year's commitment. If you're insured, your provider can handle prior authorization paperwork, which may bring the drug cost down.
Choosing a provider and getting the prescription
You fill out a short questionnaire and then pick your own provider from Sesame's list, which includes doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The first visit is by video. Your provider may order lab work. It's included at Quest Diagnostics except in Arizona, Hawaii, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Wyoming, where you pay the lab yourself.
If you're prescribed, you can pick up the same day at a local pharmacy or have it delivered. After that you get video follow-ups, unlimited messaging and app tools for logging doses and side effects. Sesame's providers don't prescribe controlled weight-loss drugs such as phentermine.
Refunds and canceling
Cancel at least three hours before your first visit and you get a full refund. Once that visit has happened, the first month isn't refundable. You can cancel yourself at any time, but it has to be before the next billing cycle, and past fees aren't returned. Sesame doesn't bill insurance for the care plan. It will send an itemized bill you can submit to an HSA or FSA.

Sesame is a general telehealth marketplace, not a weight-loss clinic. Read your provider's profile and reviews for weight-care experience before you book. If you're on Medicare or Medicaid, expect to pay cash for the drug.
