Calibrate Health Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Calibrate's price is for a program, not a drug. Its Metabolic Reset costs $199 a month with a three-month minimum, so your first commitment is $597, paid in monthly installments. After those three months the membership renews one month at a time, and you can cancel whenever you like.

The membership doesn't include medication or lab tests. Those are billed through your own insurance. Calibrate says GLP-1 copays for most members with commercial insurance run $25 a month or less once any deductible is met. It doesn't publish a cash price for any drug. If your plan won't cover a GLP-1, the clinician goes over self-pay options with you at your visit, so ask for that figure before you commit. The membership itself isn't covered by insurance, but HSA and FSA funds can pay for it. The program includes clinical appointments, coaching and insurance support:

• A video visit with a Calibrate clinician, who reviews your health history and lab results and sets a treatment plan. Calibrate says its clinicians are U.S.-licensed, board-certified nurse practitioners.
• 1:1 video sessions with an accountability coach, plus a curriculum on food, exercise, sleep and emotional health.
• Ongoing access to a medical team and a support team, and tracking tools in the Calibrate app.
• An insurance navigation team that works with your plan to cover the drug and your labs.
• A welcome kit with a smart scale that syncs to the app.

Clinicians prescribe brand-name drugs only: Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound or the Foundayo pill. There's no compounded option. Which one you get depends on your history and what your insurance covers.

Calibrate promises that if you stay for 12 consecutive months, you'll lose at least 10% of your body weight, with or without the medication, or you'll be eligible for money back. That's a year of fees, not three months, and the full terms set the conditions, so read them before you count on a refund.

To join, you need to be 18 or older, live in the U.S., and have a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a condition like prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea. Pregnancy, recent bariatric surgery, active cancer treatment and some other conditions rule you out. Calibrate is available in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

• Check your employer first. Some employers cover Calibrate for staff and dependents, and Calibrate has a search tool for that.
• Budget for three months. You're committed to $597 even if you stop early.
• Know your coverage. Without a plan that covers GLP-1s for weight loss, you'll pay a self-pay price for a brand-name drug on top of the membership.
• Ask about labs. Lab copays depend on your insurance and aren't part of the $199.
