Two bills, not one
Hims prices its weight-loss program in two parts. The first is the Hims Weight Loss Membership: $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, renewing automatically. The second is the medication itself, billed separately, monthly or upfront depending on the plan you pick.
Every "from" price on the site is the medication alone. Add the $149 membership and the Wegovy pen comes to $348 a month on the monthly plan, and the Zepbound vial to $448.

What the membership covers
The membership is what gets you a provider review. It includes a personalized treatment plan, 24/7 messaging with licensed providers, monthly check-ins with a care team, and dose changes requested through the app. You also get a Hims smart scale if you opt in. It ships separately.
There are member discounts too, on things like HelloFresh, MyFitnessPal and Ladder. They're nice extras. They shouldn't be the reason you sign up.
Hims sells brand-name GLP-1s only. There's no compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide here, so every option is a brand-name drug at a cash price.
Getting a prescription
You start with an online intake about your health history, weight goals and current medications. A state-licensed provider reviews it. Depending on your state, that can happen without a video visit. If one is needed, it can be video or audio.
Paying for the membership doesn't guarantee a prescription. If you're already on a GLP-1 elsewhere, Hims says you can often continue without restarting the dose, after the same intake.
Before you sign up
- Canceling the membership cancels the medication. Hims says ending the membership also ends any active medication plan and your access to care. You can cancel a medication plan on its own without losing the membership.
- HSA and FSA cover only part of it. The medication fee is HSA/FSA eligible. The $149 membership fee isn't, and you'll need to pay by regular card and submit for reimbursement.
- Insurance isn't used. That keeps the bill predictable, but your insurance won't lower it.
- Budget for the second bill. The headline price is never the whole monthly cost while you're a member.
