Rex MD Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Rex MD is a men's telehealth brand, owned by LifeMD, best known for ED treatment. Its weight program prescribes brand-name GLP-1s only: Wegovy as a pill or a weekly pen, Zepbound and Saxenda. You pay in two parts, and you need to add them together.

The Rex MD program fee starts at $75 a month. It covers clinician consultations, prescriptions, coaching and any required lab work you haven't had in the last 12 months. The drug is bought separately, from the manufacturer's own cash-pay pharmacy:

For Wegovy, your provider sends the prescription to NovoCare, Novo Nordisk's direct-pay pharmacy, and you set up an account there to pay and arrange delivery. Zepbound vials come straight from Eli Lilly's direct program, with the $349 listed as a starting price, so ask what your dose will cost.

The Wegovy pill is sold differently. Rex MD bundles the pill and provider care into one monthly price, and says that price stays the same at every pill dose, from 1.5 mg up to 25 mg. The current pill plan costs $349 a month including provider care; the separate $75 injection-route fee is not added again.

You fill in an online questionnaire about your goals and health history and upload photos, including a government ID. A Rex MD-affiliated provider reviews it. For many men that's the whole visit, with follow-up questions handled by secure chat or email. Some states and some medications require a phone or video call, which Rex MD arranges.

The affiliated medical group is led by Dr. Anthony Puopolo, its president. Providers are U.S. state-licensed and board-certified. Rex MD serves all 50 states.

You're charged when you finish the onboarding questionnaire. If the provider decides you're not eligible, you get a full refund.

Weight program medication ships overnight once processed, and Rex MD says the monthly price includes shipping. You can request a dose increase through the patient portal or at a renewal visit.

You can pause or cancel anytime by phone, email or the portal, and there's no long-term contract. Other refunds are handled case by case, and prescriptions can't be returned once dispensed.

• No insurance. Rex MD's weight program is cash pay only. Its parent company, LifeMD, runs a separate program that does take insurance.
• Brand-name first. The drug cost is set by the manufacturer, not by Rex MD. Rex MD says its providers can prescribe a compounded version when appropriate, but it doesn't publish a price for one.
• The $75 is not the full bill. Plan on the combined monthly figure for the drug you choose.
• HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
