DrBrainRx Review: Price, Pros & Cons

DrBrainRx splits its weight-loss care, which it calls Skinny Brain, into three tracks, each priced differently.

• Compounded. You pay a flat price per vial of compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, the same at every dose (tirzepatide up to 15 mg), plus a $25 monthly care fee. Tirzepatide costs noticeably more per vial than semaglutide. The vial price has changed recently, so confirm it at checkout. New patients get a first-vial discount code.
• Lilly Direct. DrBrainRx's clinicians manage Zepbound vials bought straight from Eli Lilly's own pharmacy. You pay DrBrainRx $99 a month for care, and pay Lilly separately for the medication, which costs more at higher doses.
• Insurance. For $99 a month, an insurance concierge team prepares your prior authorization for Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro or Zepbound and handles appeals. If you're approved, you pay your copay at the pharmacy. If you're denied, the $99 is credited toward compounded treatment.

On the compounded track, DrBrainRx says refills are started by you and never charged automatically. You won't wake up to a surprise renewal. The flip side is that you need to reorder in time so you don't run out.

Compounded medication comes cold-packed from USP-certified compounding pharmacies in the U.S., which DrBrainRx doesn't name. Brand-name drugs on the insurance track go to the pharmacy your plan approves. Most insurance decisions take three to seven business days, according to DrBrainRx. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

DrBrainRx was founded by Dr. Sara Siavoshi, who is board-certified in neurology, headache medicine and obesity medicine. Her program emphasizes keeping muscle and supporting energy alongside weight loss. It offers microdosing and maintenance plans, prescriptions for nausea and constipation, and self-injection guides and videos. The same store also sells supplements and a separate muscle-focused program.

Prescription medication can't be returned or refunded once it ships. The only exceptions are pharmacy errors, such as the wrong drug or dose, or a package sent to the wrong address. Membership fees aren't refundable once services have started. DrBrainRx says memberships can be canceled anytime with no fee.

It doesn't publish a list of states served, so confirm yours during intake. And add the $25 care fee to the vial price when you compare costs.
