Kova Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Kova sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide on four plan lengths. Month to month is the most expensive way to buy, and the first month on that plan is discounted.

You can spread a longer plan into monthly payments or pay it all upfront. Paid in full, a 12-month semaglutide plan is $1,548 and a 12-month tirzepatide plan is $2,388. Either way, you're committing to the full term.

The price covers the clinician review, the medication, delivery, ongoing check-ins and Kova's companion app. Kova doesn't take insurance. Lab work isn't included, so if your provider orders blood tests, you pay for them separately. Kova says you won't be charged unless a provider approves treatment.

Kova runs the app and the account. The medical care comes through Telegra's provider network, and Kova names the clinicians: Dr. Laurie Mercier, MD, with nurse practitioners Kimberli Hastings, Theresa Vergara and Craig Sorkin.

Prescriptions are filled through Telegra's pharmacy network. Kova lists five compounding pharmacies by name, including Strive Pharmacy, Southend Pharmacy and Absolute Pharmacy, with their contact details. It doesn't say in advance which one will fill your order, so ask if it matters to you.

The companion app is included with every plan. It sends dose reminders, tracks where you've injected so you can rotate sites, logs symptoms and side effects, and tracks your protein intake with prompts along the way. Kova pitches that protein tracking as a way to hold on to muscle while you lose weight.

You message your provider, ask for refills, track shipments and manage billing through a separate patient portal. Kova says the provider side offers round-the-clock support.

You can cancel from your account page or by emailing support. Your access lasts until the end of the period you've paid for. After that, the medication plan, refills and the app all stop, and restarting may mean a new clinical evaluation.

Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Kova's terms say the exact cancellation and refund policy is shown at checkout, before you're charged. They also say fees for completed consultations, dispensed medication and shipping are generally non-refundable. Read the policy on the checkout screen before you confirm a longer plan.

• Kova is for adults 18 and older and says it serves all 50 states, though some services vary by state.
• It's compounded only. There's no brand-name Wegovy or Zepbound.
• If you're already on a GLP-1, you can switch, but you'll go through the full intake first.
