Independent Wellness Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Independent Wellness sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide on a simple structure. New patients pay a discounted first month, then a set monthly rate after that. The company's main promise is that the ongoing rate you agree to never goes up. There's no membership fee, no subscription fee on top, and the pricing page separates first-month offers from ongoing charges.

Semaglutide is $99 for the first month, then $199 a month. Tirzepatide is $199 for the first month, then $299 a month. Its pricing page lays out the first-month and ongoing rate for each drug side by side, so read the "then" figure, not just the new-patient offer, before you decide. A lower-dose microdosing plan is also available, with its own first-month price.

You don't pay anything until your provider approves a plan. Insurance generally doesn't cover these plans, though you may be able to use HSA or FSA funds.

The selling point here is continuity. Every visit is with the same clinician, Bonnie Lea Davis, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, rather than a rotating pool of providers.

The visit schedule is set out plainly. Your first visit is a live telehealth video session. The second and third months can be refill-only check-ins done in writing. Then a video visit is required every three months. Unlimited provider visits are included in the price, and you can message between visits.

• Medication shipped to your door every four weeks, in discreet packaging.
• Lab testing through Quest Diagnostics, depending on the program, which you can do near home.
• A choice of weekly injections or daily oral drops, for people who'd rather avoid needles.
• Help switching between semaglutide and tirzepatide, or into a maintenance plan, as your goals change.

Independent Wellness also offers NAD+, glutathione and sermorelin, priced as part of a personal plan.

• Your state. Independent Wellness says it serves patients in 20 approved states and that the list can change with licensing. Check that yours is on it before the intake.
• Which pharmacy fills it. Independent Wellness says its medication comes from compliant compounding pharmacies but doesn't name them on its plan pages.
• Canceling. Ask how to stop a plan and how much notice you need before the next shipment. Its FAQ doesn't spell this out.
• Labs. Ask whether labs are included in your specific plan, since the FAQ says it depends on the program.
