Genesis Health Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Genesis Health sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide on four plan lengths: monthly, quarterly, every six months and annual. Each longer plan is billed upfront for the whole term, and the monthly equivalent drops as the term gets longer. On semaglutide, the annual plan works out to roughly half the monthly price. Tirzepatide costs more than semaglutide at every plan length.

The price shown depends on the plan you pick, and Genesis notes that the actual price depends on what your provider prescribes. Ask what your dose will cost before you commit to a six-month or annual term. Every plan is a subscription.

Genesis doesn't accept insurance and isn't enrolled with Medicare or Medicaid, but FSA and HSA cards work on every plan. Shipping is free.

Genesis lists Wegovy, Ozempic and Zepbound alongside the compounded drugs. Its Wegovy listing is marked sold out, and the Ozempic and Zepbound listings are marked limited supply, without a price. If you want a brand-name pen, ask whether Genesis can actually fill it before you start.

You complete a short online health assessment, then connect with a licensed provider who reviews your history and decides whether treatment fits. Genesis says same-day consultations are available. Providers work for physician practices affiliated with Genesis, and Genesis itself runs the technology platform.

If you're prescribed a compounded drug, one of Genesis's partner pharmacies ships it. Genesis describes them as U.S.-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies, which make each prescription for a named patient, but doesn't name them. You can ask by email to use a different pharmacy. Ongoing care includes round-the-clock provider messaging, scheduled follow-ups at no extra charge, high-protein recipes, on-demand workouts and access to a coach.

Genesis's terms say some services are available only in certain states, and it doesn't publish a list. You'll find out once you enter your location.

Genesis gives a full refund in two cases: a provider finds at your first consultation that you aren't medically eligible, or Genesis bills you in error. You lose the medical refund if you left out or misstated something on your questionnaire.

Everything else is final. Once your intake is submitted and the order enters review and fulfillment, it can't be canceled or refunded. Canceling a subscription stops future charges only.

The deadline is the part to watch. To avoid the next charge, you have to email Genesis at least 15 days before your billing date. Cancel later than that and, if the medication hasn't shipped, Genesis may give you a 10% account credit at its discretion. Once it ships, there's no refund or credit. Disputes go to binding individual arbitration.
