Framework Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Framework's homepage sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide "for as low as $25 a week," and another of its landing pages says $19 a week. Neither page says which drug, which dose or which plan length that figure belongs to, and the site doesn't publish a monthly price for either medication. You'll see your real price inside the intake.

What Framework does promise is "one clear price" with no membership fee. The plan includes dietitian and nutrition support, a personalized plan and regular check-ins with a clinician. Some products are sold as a subscription that renews automatically each month, so read the renewal amount before you pay.

You start with a health questionnaire that Framework says takes less than three minutes. A physician licensed in your state then reviews it and decides whether a GLP-1 is appropriate. Framework's FAQ says these drugs are generally prescribed at a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 and up with a weight-related health condition.

A prescription isn't guaranteed. If the physician doesn't issue one, Framework says it will decline your order and refund your payment. You have to be 18 or older, and federal and state health programs such as Medicare and Medicaid don't cover the service.

Framework describes itself as a technology platform, based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, that connects you with affiliated physicians and pharmacies. It isn't a medical practice or a pharmacy itself. Its terms say the service is available in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The medication comes from state-licensed compounding pharmacies, but Framework doesn't name them. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide aren't FDA-approved, and Framework says so in its own fine print. If it matters to you which pharmacy fills your vial, ask support before you order. You can reach them by phone or email.

Cancel a renewal in the patient portal at least 72 hours before the charge. Miss that window and Framework keeps the payment, and the doctor visit and medication go ahead as scheduled.

Refunds are rare after that point. Framework may refund an order canceled before the prescription goes to the pharmacy or before it ships, at its own discretion. Once a prescription has been sent or a package has shipped, there's no refund, and opened or unopened medication can't be returned. Slower results than you hoped for don't count as grounds for a refund either. Disputes fall under California law.

• Ask for the monthly price of your drug and dose, not the weekly ad figure.
• Ask which pharmacy will fill it.
• Put your renewal date in your calendar with the 72-hour cutoff.
