LumiMeds Review: Price, Pros & Cons

LumiMeds sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide as weekly injections. Each drug comes on four plan lengths: monthly, three months, six months and twelve months. The product cards lead with an "as low as" first-month price, and LumiMeds also quotes an "as low as" monthly rate. Neither says which plan length it belongs to, and LumiMeds doesn't print the month-to-month rate. Check the price for the plan length you actually want before you pay.

LumiMeds says the price includes the provider review, the medication, monthly check-ins and free cold-chain shipping, and that it doesn't go up when your dose does. It doesn't take insurance. FSA and HSA cards are accepted on select plans, and Klarna lets you split a plan into installments.

The same account sells NAD+ injections, and current patients get $40 off for referring a friend.

Every product card says no membership is required. LumiMeds' membership terms, from Luminate Ventures LLC, which does business as LumiMeds, read differently. They treat each plan as a fixed-term commitment, and say you owe the full amount for the term even if you pay in installments.

Those terms say plans can't be canceled mid-term or refunded once the term has started, for any reason, including a change in your health or a move. Elsewhere they say that if you cancel for any reason other than a provider denying your prescription, a $100 cancellation fee is taken from any refund. A full refund is promised only if the provider decides treatment isn't right for you.

That makes the plan length the decision that matters most. If you're new to GLP-1s, a one-month plan limits what you're locked into. LumiMeds can also change plan prices with 28 days' notice.

LumiMeds is a platform, not a medical practice or a pharmacy. Its medical director is Dr. Teresa Walsh, who is board certified in obesity medicine. Independent licensed providers review your intake, usually within 24 hours. Depending on your state, that review is done in writing or in a live visit.

The intake takes about two minutes. LumiMeds says its patients generally have a BMI of 25 or above, and if you're switching from another program you may be able to continue at your current dose. Medication comes from a state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy, which LumiMeds doesn't name.

LumiMeds says its services are available in all 50 states, but compounded medication ships only to most of them. Your state is confirmed during the consultation. The care team answers messages seven days a week, with shorter hours on weekends.
