Emerge Weight Loss Review: Price, Pros & Cons

Emerge sells one GLP-1, compounded tirzepatide, and it prices it by dose. Every plan is billed every four weeks, so a year is 13 charges, not 12.

The two top doses are open to existing patients only. If you're moving from another clinic, or want to start above 2.5 mg, Emerge asks you to say so in the comments box on your intake form.

The price covers the medication, the prescription, syringes, overnight shipping and the medical team's oversight. There's no signup fee and no separate doctor fee. Emerge is cash pay only, and HSA and FSA cards work at checkout.

If you're not ready for injections, Emerge also sells a compounded tirzepatide tablet that dissolves under your tongue. It's $149 a month for 30 tablets, with stronger versions at $199 and $249 if your provider moves you up. Emerge itself says tablets aren't as effective as the injection, and that people already on higher injected doses usually shouldn't switch. Write "ODT" in your intake comments if you want it.

Once you reach your goal, there's a maintenance plan. It's $49 every four weeks for medical supervision and care-team access, and refills cost $99 a vial on top. So $49 isn't the full monthly cost of staying on medication.

You start with a five-minute intake. You may be asked for a short video, and Emerge says it takes up to 24 hours to review it and send the prescription to the pharmacy. Dr. Sherryl Ashberg and a team of nurse practitioners do the prescribing.

The pharmacy then prepares the vial for you, which usually takes three to seven business days, and ships it overnight. Emerge works with several compounding pharmacies and tells you which one is filling yours when the order goes in. Before each refill, the team contacts you. If you're on the starting dose, it assumes you're moving up to 5 mg unless you say otherwise.

Support is by text and email only, weekdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern and shorter hours on weekends. Emerge doesn't serve California.

To cancel, text or email support. There's no minimum commitment, and Emerge says it usually processes the request the same day. If you've paid but your order hasn't gone to the pharmacy yet, you're charged a $10 processing fee.

Two other lines in the cancellation policy are worth knowing. Emerge doesn't refund orders held up by shipping delays outside its control. And if a vial holds more than four weeks of medication and you cancel before your second order, it reserves the right to charge you for the extra week. A one-time pause is usually allowed.
