California Trim Clinic Review: Price, Pros & Cons

California Trim Clinic is a weight-loss practice based in Westlake Village, California, and most of its care now happens by telemedicine. It sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide on a self-pay, pay-per-service basis. It says there's no membership fee and no automatic renewal, so nothing is charged again unless you order again.

The clinic shows "starting at" monthly prices: $199 for semaglutide and $299 for tirzepatide. It doesn't publish what the price becomes as your dose rises, so ask for the cost at each step of your dose plan, and at your likely maintenance dose, during your first visit.

Insurance isn't needed or billed. HSA and FSA funds may cover eligible care, and you can spread payments through Sezzle, Cherry or Affirm, subject to approval.

You start with a free discovery call of about twenty minutes, by video or phone, with the care team. It covers your goals, health history and what you've already tried. The team then books you with a licensed medical provider, who reviews your history and any lab work, screens for reasons you shouldn't take a GLP-1, and prescribes only if treatment is appropriate.

If you're prescribed, the medication ships free in discreet packaging from a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy, which the clinic doesn't name. Its semaglutide program pairs the injection with vitamin B12 and includes weekly check-ins, and you can message the care team any day as your dose is adjusted. The clinic says it treats patients in all 50 states. It doesn't name the providers or a medical director for its adult program. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.

The practice also offers peptide therapy, hormone replacement and NAD+, plus a separate teen program, TeenHealthRx, for patients 12 and older. It is led by a named physician, Dr. Lynda A. Szczech, and starts with a $99 physician consultation.

Compounded orders can't be returned once they've been placed with the pharmacy. If you change your mind after ordering, contact the clinic quickly. It will refund an order that hasn't been sent to the pharmacy yet, which usually happens within a day.

Orders ship with tracking and photo proof of delivery. If a package is damaged or lost, email the clinic and it will send a replacement at no charge when appropriate, but a missing or stolen package must be reported to the carrier within seven days. A package that arrives warm within 48 hours of shipping isn't replaced; the clinic says the pharmacy's heat testing shows the medication stays effective. Its terms also mention prorated refunds for unused prepaid services, reviewed case by case.
